Ishmael Beah's audience: Talking

While at the Ishmael Beah reading, I heard many things. I heard him speak about the book he wrote and all the proses in which it took. I heard about his experiences and he orally told the story of it, briefly. But what I heard most, was the audience. Sitting in a a crowd of hundreds and maybe be a thousand or more people, you can hear all the things around you. From the chewing of gum, a baby crying or even the conversations of people in front, behind and beside you . I thought that for the most part it was an okay audience, but I could hear people talking about how they wanted to leave and how they didnt care, which really annoyed me. If you dont care, maybe you shouldnt have come. Maybe you should of stayed home, and did other things. I think its rude that man comes to a college and takes time out of his life to explain things to us and people dont appreciate it. So i dont understand why they just dont leave. And another thing that annoyed me was the fact that people brought babies. I mean everyone can hear when a child is upset and no child is just going to sit there and listen to a man speak. I did not think it was a place for a child.
