Homework

Thanksgiving was full of forgetting about college. I forgot about everything I was suppose to do. So today I sat down and finished the paper I suppose to write for English and posted it. Though it is a tad bit late, but late is better than never they say. I think over breaks people forget about things that are important, like their work. It is about family and other things, getting together with friends and college homework is not on any one's mind, well it wasn't on mine.

Tumblr

So today i am blogging and i have no idea what we are suppose to be blogging about. So i am going to blog about me blogging. I like to blog i do it daily on Tumblr.com and it helps me vent. My blog is about my life and everything i do in it. Also i blog some writings i do as well. Somethings are dark and some are happy. It is just life and my blog is full of things that describe me as a person, and suggest everyone read it :)

Whole World Review.

This paper titled the whole world is a good paper. It goes into great depth of the subject in which it is talking about. I would give it a 6. Because it is written in a way that many people can relate to. It doesn’t use words that average Americans would not understand. It is written to an audience of diverse people.

I think that the sentences flow well together. There does not seem to be a hesitation or a force in the paragraphs. They examples, using photographs also helped the essay along as well. People are visual learners and observers and that helps greatly to include a photograph. I think also that this is also staying on subject and that it gives you the essay almost in story mode, which is easier to read.

Not My Kind Of Community

Community. . . What is a community? By definition it's : a group of people living in a particular local area. I dont know what community I belong to. I may belong to many and just not know it. I know that sometimes i feel as if i do not belong anywhere. Is there a community of loners or people who dont belong in major communities? Is there a place they call home, or a place they can recognize as a community? I dont know, if so, someone give me a map and circle that destination because i am on my way there. I live in Shwoody this year in the Lafollette complex. I guess that in its self is a community. But i dont know if feel as though i belong there. I dont know if I feel like a part of the community. Most of the times its like an out of body experiences and i can see myself standing long a crowd of people here, and i can tell i just dont fit in. Im not the right piece to this puzzle. I dont know what makes a community that much, or what you need to have, i dont even know if i have the right stuff to be in any type of community. But maybe soon i will find out i belonged to one all along. Maybe i just need to stray away from this big pack of communities and make my own.

Fire

Fire Fire Fire! Friday we had to do a time writing test, which for me I thought was going pretty good. But then out of no where there was fire drill. How annoying. every time I'm in the middle of something important there is a fire. Like two times ive been watching glee, there was a fire drill. And this is the second time in English that there is also been a fire drill. It kind of gates annoying, though i know they have to do it, I just wish i didnt have to participate in it. Seriously! My friend Jack said Stu West had one at 4 oclock in the morning and they had to stay in Noyer center thing for like three hours! I dont think I would be able to Handel that! Fire Fire Fire, everywhere I look there is a fire drill. Always in Lafollette not a week goes by that the fire trucks or police man are not here. It is crazy.

Project 3

This has to do with the paper i am writing for project 3.

Mondays Photos

The photos that we got shown to us on Monday, opened my eyes a little. The stories he told and all that. I really wish i could go to Africa and help out, but one im poor, and two i cant take all those shots. I dont have the stomach for needles really. But it is interesting that even back then there was a group out there who was willing to take time out of their lives to help that nation out. It reminded me of what me and my partner talked about in our presentation. I think everyone should somehow show their support for them ,and help that nation out in some way.

Writing Project

The thing that we did with people, by reading out loud our papers, i think actually worked. I could see how my papers sounded. I use to do this when i wrote, Id read it out loud to myself then Id read it out loud to a couple of people. Just to see if they thought my stories were interesting or not. I think it is a really good way to edit and go over a paper.

Library

So i didnt go to the Library but I have been there several times, to get movies. It is pretty big, bigger than my high school library that is for sure. It is very very complicated in there, and I swear I could get lost for hours there. Its so scary in there when you are alone. I felt like the lady in the beginning of GHOST BUSTERS and I thought a ghost was going to get me or something. It is so creepy. But I go there just to get movies most of the time. Which they have a decent array of movies.

Art Museum

When we went to the art museum this week, I thought I would be going to a very small museum with a few things, but when I walked in , I was amazed to see that there were many things. I was happy to see, when I looked upstairs a giant Buddha. Since Buddhism is a giant interest of mine, I wash happy to see it. I think I would of enjoyed the tour more if the person, woman, whom gave us the tour was more educated on it. Other than that, it was pretty good, and I hope to go back there very soon. To see the other pieces of art that are located in there. I am very interested in seeing the rest of the Christian and Contemporary Art Sections.

Leap of Faith

A Leap of Faith: A leap of faith, the air under you feet. Your arms extended. Your last breath. You never know whats going to happen. But you just believe. You never give up. You do what you want. You feel how you feel. You say what you say. You do what you want, because you believe that its right. You believe that faith will help you. You believe that everything will be okay.

Ishmael Beah's audience: Talking

While at the Ishmael Beah reading, I heard many things. I heard him speak about the book he wrote and all the proses in which it took. I heard about his experiences and he orally told the story of it, briefly. But what I heard most, was the audience. Sitting in a a crowd of hundreds and maybe be a thousand or more people, you can hear all the things around you. From the chewing of gum, a baby crying or even the conversations of people in front, behind and beside you . I thought that for the most part it was an okay audience, but I could hear people talking about how they wanted to leave and how they didnt care, which really annoyed me. If you dont care,maybe you shouldnt have come. Maybe you should of stayed home, and did other things. I think its rude that man comes to a college and takes time out of his life to explain things to us and people dont appreciate it. So i dont understand why they just dont leave. And another thing that annoyed me was the fact that people brought babies. I mean everyone can hear when a child is upset and no child is just going to sit there and listen to a man speak. I did not think it was a place for a child.

Monty Python

So, Mony Python and The Holy Grail , is one of my all time favorite movies. It is a very Sacreligious movie, but in good taste. It makes fun of Great Britain Mythology, ( King Auther and Knights of the Round Table.) But the Witch Scene, is one of my absolute favorites. The fact that they are that excited about casting out a person, to go and dress them up and make stupid comments on what makes a witch, astonds me. The fact they say, she has a wort, and she has a witch note, which they had put on her. But still insist on her being a witch.

Sir Bedevere: But you are dressed as one
The Witch: *They* dressed me up like this!
Crowd: We didn't! We didn't...
The Witch: And this isn't my nose. It's a false one.
Sir Bedevere: [lifts up her false nose] Well?

Invisiable Children

Since we read the book, a boy soldier , I thought Id post a video since I am a part of a foundation, that is to rescue children soldiers. I think everyone should join the group by either signing up for the newsletter or even donating or helping out. They have missions all the time, and I find this very important and informational.

English

This class is a little bit too easy for me, which also makes it hard in a sense, as in to pay attention. Although I'm sure this will change as the semester goes on! Or I can only HOPE. Blogging is no big deal to me, because I use to do it all the time, in my high school years, around 10th and 11th grade. But its nice to get back into the feel of it, and to be able to write things down that is racing through my head, which is a lot of things. (laugh out loud) At this moment I am sitting on this cold tile floor in the North Quad waiting for my Latin class to begin, which I am some what excited about, since I know all the Vocabulary words for the Quiz, I don't know what I am suppose to be blogging about on this blog, so I'm just going to use it as a regular blog and write anything my little heart desires. But for now, I am done, since I need to get into class and do things, that matter <3

Goals?

So we are suppose to write down our goals in this class, which I find kind of interesting, in which Ive never had a class in which I had to blog about my goals in that class. Thinking about it , as I type this, I may not have many or any goals for this class, other to pass it. Maybe sooner or later, I will be able to come up with things, that I might want to accomplish or whatever. I might have a goal in to which i might be able to write better, and have a broad array of words to use when writing, which will come in handy with my Photojournalism major.
